WhatsApp, translated. Chat in any language.
Okiko is an app that connects to your WhatsApp and translates your conversations. What people write in another language arrives in yours, and what you write leaves in theirs, with a preview before you send.
How it works
- 01
Install the app from this website
No app store needed: one tap on Android, two gestures on iPhone, one icon on a computer.
- 02
Connect your WhatsApp
Like WhatsApp Web, as a linked device: scan a QR code, or type an 8-character code in WhatsApp.
- 03
Chat as usual
Incoming messages are translated into your language, with the original one tap away. Your replies are translated into theirs.
Made for real conversations
Tone and slang, not word by word
Okiko recognises the language of each chat and reads the tone (formal, casual, slang) before translating.
Groups, photos and documents included
Your chats and groups are all there. Text and captions written in another language are translated.
Free to start
Received messages are translated without limit, with 20 translated sends a day. Premium adds AI on everything you receive, for €9.90 a month.

Frequently asked questions
Is Okiko WhatsApp?
No. Okiko is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta. It connects to your account as a linked device, the same way WhatsApp Web does, and shows your chats with translation added.
Which languages are supported?
More than three hundred languages and chat dialects, from English and Spanish to Hindi, Arabic, Japanese and Swahili.
Is it free?
You can start for free: received messages are translated without limit and 20 translated sends a day are included. Premium costs €9.90 a month or €79 a year, with a 7-day trial.
Is my data private?
To be translated, your messages go through Okiko’s server and translation services. Read the privacy policy for the details.
Does Okiko have a calendar?
Yes: an Agenda tab in the app, free of charge. It has day, week, month and list views, tasks with due dates, push reminders, recurring events, time zones and public holidays for 37 countries of your choice. It is linked to your chats: a message, even one written in another language, becomes an event or a reminder in one tap (the analysis is a help, so check it before saving). An event shows the other person’s local time when their location is known, and “Suggest times” writes your free slots into the chat, translated as it is sent. You can import and export iCalendar (.ics) files. Reminders are a help, not a guarantee.
